2K Games has welcomed Ben Brinkman from the creators of Apex Legends to direct the studio crew at their internal studio, which is currently working on the anticipated over-the-shoulder action-packed title known as this innovative game.
Brinkman assumes the leadership position at 31st Union following the exit of previous head Michael Condrey, who was removed from his post due to Project Ethos' lackluster early showing last fall.

The president noted that the developers is now overhauling Project Ethos with a revised approach, aiming to satisfy player expectations.
The news echoes a comparable step taken by 2K Games in August, when they hired an industry veteran from the Diablo team to contribute to the beloved franchise studio Cloud Chamber.

It’s been inspiring to see how far you’ve progressed. You embraced the criticism to consideration and revamped Project ETHOS with a renewed direction - one that’s poised to achieve its potential to our audience.

Brinkman currently serves in the role of senior developer and head of production at Respawn Entertainment for their flagship title. Brinkman earlier was employed at Treyarch and Activision in multiple development positions on the iconic franchise series, and, earlier in his career, had periods at 2K and Electronic Arts.
The upcoming game was announced in October 2024 alongside a public demo. Then, the developers portrayed the game as a "no-cost, third-person perspective action-packed experience and an innovative advancement on the genre."
